Context

Building a lead form shouldn't be difficult

Instagram lead ads let businesses collect customer interest directly in-app. But setting up the instant form โ€” choosing the right questions, ordering them, and tying them to a business goal โ€” is manual and unfamiliar for most advertisers, especially small businesses without a dedicated marketing team.

~60Klead ad forms are created in Ads Manager every day
55%of advertisers who open the form editor actually publish a form
30%of new advertisers publish a form

User pain points

Advertisers know their goal, not how to structure a form

I spoke with advertisers across business sizes to understand where form creation breaks down today.

  • ๐Ÿ’ก Unsure which questions actually drive high-quality leads
  • ๐Ÿ’ก Form setup feels technical and time-consuming
  • ๐Ÿ’ก Hard to know what โ€œgoodโ€ looks like without examples
Advertisers know their goal, not how to structure a form

Solution ยท 01

Describe the form in plain language

Advertisers tell us their goal and what they want to collect in their own words. The system drafts a complete, structured form they can review and edit โ€” turning a blank canvas into a strong starting point.

Solution ยท 02

Not sure where to start? Pick an example

For advertisers who don't know how to describe their form, we surface ready-made example prompts drawn from common business goals. One tap fills the prompt and drafts a complete form โ€” removing the blank-canvas problem entirely.

Solution ยท 03

Review and edit before publishing

The draft is a starting point, not a black box. Advertisers can review every question, reorder or rewrite fields, and adjust the form until it fits their business โ€” keeping them in full control of what they publish.

What this project taught me

The work was deprioritized twice before testing. I learned to keep the vision warm without burning capital re-pitching it every cycle.

Sometimes, a strong concept isn't enough โ€” you need a changed condition to make the same idea suddenly feasible and initiative to try again.
